Well, yes and no my friend, the app deals with all the intricacies of the pedals and knee levers changing the tunings of the strings to find the chords, if you use palm levers of any other mechanism that changes tuning of strings it will be very useful though.
I mean you "could" create a copedent with no knee levers, and 3 Pedals (because that is the minimum pedals allowed) that have no changes on the guitar, no tuning changes on any string, and "could" work around the limitations of finding chords without changing string's tunings, by filtering notes of chords and so, but I want to be completely honest, and say that the app was intended for the mechanisms of the changes in string tunings.

Although if you have ideas that you can tell me about that would accommodate better for lap steel, please contact me psgcompass@gmail.com and I would gladly work on them to add them to the app.
